TENNIS COACH ERIC
ABOUT
Eric started his coaching career in The Netherlands.
For 18 years he worked for the Dutch Tennis Federation with Dutch top junior players. He travelled along with the Dutch junior teams to international tournaments.
After 18 years, he made the decision to move to Barcelona, Spain to start a tennis academy of his own: Tennis Coaching Barcelona. His academy consisted of high-intensity camps with small groups of players.
Throughout his time in Spain, he regularly travelled with players to international tournaments.
Over time he created a large international network, which led to the Malaysian Tennis Federation offering Eric a position as National Coach.
Eric worked at the National Tennis Center in Kuala Lumpur with national junior players, Davis Cup players, and Fed Cup players. During his time in Kuala lumpur, Eric was the David Cup coach and coaches the Malaysian Tennis Team during the South East Asian Games in Singapore. At the South East Asian Games the National Team of Malaysia won two bronze medals in order to write history.
Eric gave many workshops for tennis coaches in order to share his knowledge and to raise the level of tennis in Malaysia. During his time in Malaysia, he travelled with his players through whole Asia and Australia to a variety of tournaments.
Two of his players were ranked number 1 under 14 in Asia.
He attended several ATP and WTA tournaments with his players. This allowed him to connect with other coaches and top players at that level.
After two successful years in Malaysia, Eric became National Coach in Sri Lanka. He worked for three years at the Sri Lankan Tennis Federation.
Sri Lanka is a developing country with not a lot of money for tennis development. It was a very grateful job for him to be able to help the national players and local coaches. Also in Sri Lanka he gave many tennis workshops to share his knowledge with the local tennis community.
After three years, Eric went back to the Netherlands and currently works with high performance youth players.
With over 30 years of tennis experience from all over the world, Eric decided to share his knowledge and experience with other coaches, players and parents.
